FEATURED PROJECTS
Selected examples of HKC Marketing’s strategic leadership during periods of growth, change, and transformation.
HKC Marketing created the destination launch strategy and tourism marketing strategy for the Lassonde Art Trail, a major public art destination on Toronto’s waterfront. HKC Marketing is leading implementation across advertising, social media ads, out of home, community engagement, tourism marketing, and more.
HKC Marketing developed The Sevens Framework, a custom strategic framework that underpins the Art Gallery of Northumberland's three-year Regional Engagement & Market Development Strategy. HKC is leading the collaborative development of the strategy, building on the AGN's Strategic Plan to strengthen regional presence, audience development, partnerships, and community engagement.
Vancouver International Dance Festival (VIDF)
Through strategic guidance, custom tools and resources, and hands-on support, HKC Marketing helped the Vancouver International Dance Festival clarify, unify, and systematize its marketing, building internal capacity while strengthening long-term visibility and sustainability.
Deanna Peters, Artistic Director, described it as “The most successful festival in the 26 years of the festival” and said, “We had to stop selling passes because we were overrun.”
The Elora Singers and Festival invited HKC Marketing to help bring their marketing in house, create systems and structures, and strengthen internal capacity.
That vision is now a reality. HKC built internal systems and sustainable campaign workflows, developed distinctive new visuals with a new designer, and mentored the internal Marketing & Box Office Coordinator, who now leads their marketing with confidence and clarity.
From their team: “Your work has been transformative (to put it mildly) – I’ve been so grateful for your guidance and expertise in this year of transition.”
At a transformative time in the organization’s evolution, HKC Marketing is providing strategic leadership, marketing team mentorship, campaign planning, marketing structures, and organizational guidance.
The Royal Conservatory of Music / Koerner Hall
Heather Kelly directed the marketing to launch The Royal Conservatory’s flagship concert hall, Koerner Hall, then led brand development, marketing, partnerships, outreach, and audience development for The RCM Performing Arts Division, including Koerner Hall, two additional venues, and all public concerts for more than thirteen years. Today, HKC Marketing continues to create strategies and campaign plans for Koerner Hall, manage media planning and buying, arrange media partnerships, and provide coaching and advising for the Marketing Manager.
MOCA Toronto (Museum of Contemporary Art)
HKC directed and managed MOCA’s exhibition marketing over three years and two triennials, including strategy development, campaign planning and implementation, media planning and buying, media partnerships, copywriting and editing, collateral production and distribution, design management, budget management, hiring and collaboration with internal staff. HKC also supported grant applications, membership program redevelopment, and museum strategy development.
The Image Centre at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson Image Centre)
HKC Marketing led the marketing and communications strategy to launch the Image Centre in 2012, establishing its public presence locally, nationally, and internationally. Throughout the Image Centre’s first decade, HKC provided strategic marketing leadership, guiding marketing strategy, campaign planning, media buying, media partnerships, and communications team support as the institution built its reputation and audiences.
HKC Marketing developed the strategic framework, marketing playbook, and implementation tools to support the next phase of Gary Crawford’s professional art practice. The engagement established the positioning, audience development, collector cultivation, submissions, commissions, digital strategy, and marketing systems required to build long-term visibility, exhibition opportunities, and sustainable art sales.
HKC Marketing is working with Menon Dwarka, Founder and Principal of MPD Culture Consultants, on business development and thought leadership.
